Illusion and Truth – Thoughts about Truth

Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because that would destroy their whole illusion. (Friedrich Nietzsche)

Nothing can be more real than the illusion itself, because as long as man has not understood what he really is, he will be driven over and over again in a game that he himself is not able to oversee. If causes could be recognized, if they could actually be understood, the play of theatre would be finished; but just as the mind represents an intangible entity, so tangible are the seemingly real things that nourish eyes and ears and feed illusions until they have reached their fattening status.

What is truth and what is illusion? No matter what I would say, it is always in the eye of the beholder. Truth, however, lasts and exists by itself, the lie and the illusion must be fed and kept alive.
