The Silent Uprising – April 25, 1999
Quiet footsteps in morning light
no slogans raised, no face in sight
Ten thousand standing, calm and clear
no one knows what’s coming near
Springtime in a city of stone
one long street, still and alone
no voices, only eyes that speak
every step feels slow and weak
No flags raised, no show of might
no loud words break the light
just a breath, just being there
and the hope: “They’ll hear our prayer”
But what stood peaceful in that place
was reframed with twisted face
what was plea became a crime
and patience broke in borrowed time
The silent uprising, no one cries
yet it carries through all times
Truth that lingers in the shade
Compassion that will never fade
The silent uprising, quiet force
no system breaks it from its course
What they take, what they burn
still remains what we learn
From the silence grows a fear
one they cannot tolerate here
too much spirit in the air
too much light they cannot bear
Names erased, doors are closed
no more voices, none opposed
what won’t fit is redefined
until no one speaks their mind
And the world looks slowly away
words dissolve, no weight, no say
between power, trade and gold
silence echoes loud and cold
The silent uprising, no one cries
yet it carries through all times
Truth that lingers in the shade
Compassion that will never fade
The silent uprising, quiet force
no system breaks it from its course
What they take, what they burn
still remains what we learn
Somewhere far, in foreign land
someone still takes their stand
no stage lights, no grand design
just a face that holds the line
They say nothing – yet so much
no applause, no final touch
just a soul that will remain
driven by a deeper flame
No echo – just memory
no verdict – just shifting sea
no ending – just the flow
and somewhere it won’t let go
The silent uprising, year by year
unseen – yet always here
what’s suppressed will still endure
beyond time, beyond the shore
The silent uprising – quiet vow
against the force of power now
And whoever truly sees
knows the quiet never leaves
Quiet footsteps, standing ground
one long street, a nation’s sound
And the question still remains:
Who will look beyond the chains?
Just four words, simple, clear
yet they echo loud and near:
Falun Dafa is good!
