Riders of the Dusk

Riders of the Dusk

The desert wind was rising,
a cold and angry sigh.
I walked the lonely canyon
beneath a blood-red sky.
My boots were kicking dust clouds,
the night was drawing near,
when thunder from the distance
rolled like hooves of ancient fear.

Riders of the dusk,
shadows burning through the night.
Hear the low bass rumble
like a storm that comes to life.
Riders of the dusk,
ghosts no man can leave behind—
they ride the lines of judgment
through the corners of my mind.

I’d sinned in ways forgotten,
in ways I never said.
Left roads and broken promises
and tears the years have shed.
Their silhouettes were glowing,
their horses made of flame—
I knew they weren’t just coming,
I knew they called my name.

Oh Lord, I feel the fire,
I hear the cracking sky.
I see my past come riding
with no place left to hide.

Riders of the dusk,
shadows burning through the night.
Hear the low bass rumble
like a storm that comes to life.
Riders of the dusk,
ghosts no man can leave behind—
they ride the lines of judgment
through the corners of my mind.

And when the dawn came bleeding,
the ghosts had slipped away.
But the echo of their footsteps
still haunts me every day.
