Sleepless
Sleepless by the fire glow, my mind is running wild,
Reading all the poets, every thought so soft and quiet.
So much left to say, though the words just fade away,
Trying to hold the meaning, but it slips from me each day.
Searching for a truth I can’t quite name,
Catching every spark before it breaks.
I breathe it in, let it circle like the wind,
Hoping for a place where all my thoughts begin.
It feels like a game, feels like a play,
Trying to find myself in every line I say.
Climbing down from the heights I once knew,
Step by step I start to see my own truth.
Yeah, it feels like a game, feels like a play—
But somewhere in the fading light,
I find my way.
Pages turning slowly, every silence speaks,
Life becomes a mirror when the soul is feeling weak.
Pulling down the curtains, letting night unwind,
Somewhere in the stillness I can hear my shifting mind.
Maybe all the pieces fall the way they should,
Maybe losing balance leads me back to something good.
I’m learning to surrender what I thought I had to prove,
’Cause falling from the high horse helps me finally move.
It feels like a game, feels like a play,
Trying to find myself in every line I say.
Climbing down from the heights I once knew,
Step by step I start to see my own truth.
Yeah, it feels like a game, feels like a play—
But somewhere in the fading light,
I find my way.
